On October 21–22, 2025, London hosted Carbon Unbound Europe 2025 – one of the leading global events dedicated to the future of carbon markets and innovations in carbon capture and removal.
Organized by Carbon Unbound Summits, the forum brought together business leaders, investors, buyers, and climate policy experts to discuss market trends, financial mechanisms, and technological breakthroughs driving the low-carbon transition.
Carbonsafe was among the participants at the event, represented by Dobromir Kasabov, Head of Trade & Finance, who took part in a series of meetings and discussions focusing on key developments in carbon markets, financing, and regulation.
The summit confirmed the growing momentum of the voluntary carbon market and outlined several defining trends shaping its future:
• A focus on high-quality, long-term carbon removals as a foundation for trust among investors and buyers.
• The emergence of financial innovations, including insurance mechanisms and debt financing, aimed at reducing project risk.
• Corporate buyers such as Stripe, Klarna, and Shell are prioritizing long-lived carbon credits but are also showing increasing interest in soil-based carbon credits – a category where Carbonsafe plays a leading role in the region.
• The forthcoming implementation of the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF) is expected to strengthen harmonization and confidence in market standards.
• Greater emphasis on biodiversity and sustainable agricultural practices as key co-benefits that enhance the value of carbon credits.
• The introduction of insured carbon assets (e.g., Artio), providing added security for investors.
• The rise of blended finance models, combining funds and bank support (such as Kumo), to facilitate the scaling of nature-based solutions.
• Increasing attention from media and analytics platforms such as Carbon Herald and Sightline Climate toward transparent and science-backed projects.
Carbonsafe’s participation in Carbon Unbound Europe 2025 is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to engage in the global dialogue on credible and traceable carbon solutions.
The presence of Dobromir Kasabov contributed to building new partnerships and exchanging insights with leading market participants, further positioning Bulgaria as an active voice in Europe’s sustainable transition.
The forum reaffirmed that the future of sustainable business lies at the intersection of technology, transparency, and scientific integrity – principles that remain at the core of Carbonsafe’s mission.
By bridging carbon farming, innovation, and trust, Carbonsafe continues to develop a model that transforms Bulgaria into a regional example of climate resilience and sustainable growth.
