At the end of January, Carbonsafe became the focus of an independent on-site audit conducted by Earthood as part of the validation and verification process for its carbon projects. Between January 26 and 30, 2026, Carbonsafe hosted representatives of Earthood—an independent auditor and verifier of climate and carbon projects—as part of the validation and verification cycle for the 2024–2025 project period.
During the audit mission, Earthood’s experts carried out a detailed review of Carbonsafe’s operational systems, along with field visits to participating farmers across different project regions. The focus was placed on the real-world implementation of agricultural practices and their consistency with the reported data and project processes.
Lead auditors for Project North and Project South conducted on-site inspections of farms and fields belonging to selected participants and held discussions with farmers. These visits are a critical component of independent oversight, allowing the assessment of projects beyond documentation—directly where change is taking place.
While the core phase of the auditing process is still ahead, this step clearly demonstrates that high standards and strict independent scrutiny are fundamental to building trust in climate solutions. Earthood is an organization with a well-established international reputation and rigorous criteria that ensure the reliability and quality of the generated carbon credits.
Carbonsafe highly values the professionalism and thorough approach of the Earthood team and remains fully engaged in all upcoming stages of the process. Independent verification is not merely a formality—it is a key element in building long-term trust in the voluntary carbon market and in the real contribution of agriculture to climate solutions.
