The Carbonsafe team attended Open Days 2026 at Opora Zaden Bulgaria’s demonstration site in the village of Tsalapitsa, where new varieties and hybrids of vegetable crops were presented, along with up-to-date solutions for plant nutrition and crop protection.
A key focus of the event was tomatoes. Visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of large-fruited pink and red varieties and hybrids, including new solutions with high resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), which is among the most serious challenges for tomato producers worldwide.
The demonstrations also highlighted practices related to soil health and plant nutrition. Specialists from Green Ground presented precision and balanced fertilization solutions aimed at improving nutrient uptake efficiency and enhancing produce quality. In parallel, BASF showcased current crop protection products and technologies focused on controlling diseases and pests in vegetable crops.
The event enabled direct interaction with producers, agronomists, and sector specialists, as well as the exchange of practical experience and good practices. In addition to the demonstration plots, the program included expert presentations dedicated to modern trends in vegetable production and the sustainable management of agricultural systems.
