On 21 November 2025, the Agricultural University – Plovdiv hosted the scientific-practical forum “Sustainable Agriculture in the Era of Climate Challenges and Digital Innovations” — an event that brought together leading scientists, experts, innovators, and representatives of the agribusiness sector from across the country. The conference was part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Agronomy “St. Dimitar Solunski,” one of Bulgaria’s most respected academic institutions in the field of agriculture.
Carbonsafe was officially invited to participate in the first thematic session dedicated to agricultural science and global climate challenges. Chavdar Marinov, CEO of Carbonsafe, delivered a lecture titled “Climate-Resilient Business Model: How Farmers Can Benefit from Carbon Neutrality.”
His presentation highlighted the scientific mechanisms through which carbon farming can deliver measurable benefits for farmers — from improving soil structure and increasing carbon retention to creating new economic opportunities through certified carbon credits. Chavdar Marinov also presented practical results from Carbonsafe’s national program, which already includes dozens of farms across the country, supported by documented field data and laboratory analyses.
Carbonsafe’s participation was highly valued by both the academic community and the attending representatives of the agricultural sector. The forum demonstrated that collaboration between science, business, and farmers is essential for addressing climate challenges and building a more sustainable agricultural future for Bulgaria.
Carbonsafe will continue to be an active partner to scientific institutions and the agrifood sector, supporting the adoption of innovative, scientifically proven, and economically effective practices for carbon farming.
