Carbonsafe 2025: A Year of Proof. 2026: A Year of Growth.

2025 was a year in which Carbonsafe reaffirmed the direction it has followed from the very beginning — combining science, sustainable practices, and farmers’ trust into a unified model that is transforming Bulgarian agriculture from within. It was a year in which our work in the fields, in laboratories, and in dialogue with society demonstrated its value in a clear and compelling way.

The carbon farming program continued to grow and evolve. More and more farmers joined a model that provides annual soil sampling, precise laboratory analyses, and science-based recommendations for improving soil health. But perhaps most importantly, in 2025 farmers began to see not only the environmental benefits of sustainable practices, but also their economic potential — through certified carbon credits that open new opportunities for additional income and greater business stability.

The year also brought strong external recognition. The awards from the Forbes Innovation & Tech Awards — Gold in AgriTech and Silver in GreenTech, followed by second place in the “Green Innovation” category — were a sign that the direction we are taking resonates beyond the agricultural sector. These distinctions show that scientific rigor, transparency, and high-quality processes belong on the international stage, and that Bulgaria’s sustainable agriculture can serve as an example.

In 2025, Carbonsafe actively participated in the professional conversation about the future of agriculture. We took part in national and international forums, university lectures, and expert discussions that contributed to broader understanding of carbon farming and the need for reliable methods to measure impact. These exchanges showed us that when farmers, science, and business listen to one another, meaningful change becomes possible.

Social responsibility also left its mark on 2025. Our involvement in the “Caps for the Future” initiative was a small gesture with big significance — a reminder that sustainability does not begin with large projects but with everyday actions that build trust and community. Joining the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria was a natural continuation of this philosophy and a commitment to even higher standards in governance and transparency.

Looking ahead to 2026, we see a year of expansion. A year in which we will continue to grow the program, build new partnerships, and introduce solutions grounded in science and tailored to the needs of farmers. New European policies will open additional opportunities, and we are ready to be among the organizations that lead the transition toward sustainable models.

2025 was a year of solid results, recognition, and confident steps forward.
2026 will be a year of growth — with more farmers, more knowledge, and a stronger contribution to the sustainable future of Bulgarian agriculture.
