What Science Predicts: Key Insights from the International Forum on Climate Change

On November 29–30, 2025, the Global Warming & Climate Change Conference 2025 took place as an international virtual forum bringing together scientists and experts from around the world to discuss what the coming decades may hold. Representatives from Carbonsafe joined the online sessions and followed the main discussions and conclusions presented by the speakers.

Professor James Renwick, one of New Zealand’s leading climatologists, delivered an up-to-date overview of the state of climate change. According to his analysis, global temperatures have already risen by around 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, with 2024 officially recorded as the warmest year in history. CO₂ concentrations have reached peak levels unseen for several million years, while extreme weather events continue to increase in frequency. Prof. Renwick emphasized that the future of the climate will depend entirely on the decisions societies make today.

An interactive session led by People for Nature (Australia) followed, presenting IPCC data on the impacts of climate change on the global population, including the growing vulnerability of billions of people. The speakers highlighted that widespread, even if imperfect, actions across society have a far greater effect than limited “perfect” solutions implemented by only a few.

Dr. Leo Park from South Korea provided an overview of engineering methods for carbon dioxide removal, stressing that while technological solutions are important, they cannot replace the urgent need to significantly reduce emissions.

The webinar clearly outlined the scale of the challenges posed by global warming and underscored the role of scientific evidence in shaping sustainable policies. These insights are particularly valuable for Carbonsafe as the company continues to advance scientifically validated and sustainable solutions in agriculture.
