On November 4, 2025, the 10th Anniversary Conference of the South-East European Advisory Service Network (SEASN) was held at Hotel Central in Sofia, organized by the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) and the SEASN Central Office in Zagreb.
The event marked a decade of collaboration among experts, research institutions, and advisory organizations working to modernize and promote sustainable agriculture across the region.
One of the highlights of the program was the panel discussion titled “EU AKIS in the Field of Climate Change – Development Perspective and Good Practices such as Carbon Credits,” featuring Dr. Dimitar Vanev, Director of the “Analysis, Planning and Information Support” Directorate at NAAS, and Dobromir Kasabov, Head of Trade and Finance at Carbonsafe.
During his presentation, Dobromir Kasabov shared the Bulgarian experience in developing a certified carbon farming program, emphasizing Carbonsafe’s role in building trust, transparency, and scientific credibility within the voluntary carbon markets. He highlighted the tangible benefits for farmers and the growing potential of sustainable agriculture as a bridge toward the green transition.
The anniversary conference brought together representatives of advisory services from Southeast Europe, experts from the European Commission, academia, and the business sector. Among the key topics discussed were the role of advisory organizations in integrating knowledge and innovation (AKIS), the vision for advisory services under the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and best practices in climate and carbon policies for sustainable land management.
Carbonsafe reaffirmed its position as a leading Bulgarian example in certified carbon farming, demonstrating that science, business, and climate action can go hand in hand in building a sustainable future for agriculture in the region.
