Carbonsafe took part in the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit, held in Padua, Italy – one of the leading European events dedicated to the development of carbon farming, innovations in monitoring, and the future of carbon markets. The forum brought together representatives from business, academia, and institutions working towards building sustainable and reliable solutions in the field of soil carbon and climate policy.
As part of the event, Carbonsafe actively participated in the programme, presenting its model during the Innovation Corner parallel session. The presentation focused on real on-the-ground impact, the implementation of regenerative agricultural practices, and the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem co-benefits as a foundation for building trust in carbon projects. Particular emphasis was placed on the company’s approach, based on direct measurement of soil organic carbon and a science-based methodology that ensures traceability and reliability of results.
Carbonsafe also shared its practical experience in Bulgaria, highlighting the importance of annual physical soil sampling, laboratory analyses, and the issuance of carbon credits only after independent verification. This model clearly demonstrates the distinction between estimation and measurement and places strong emphasis on delivering real, verifiable climate impact. In addition, it was shown that carbon farming creates not only environmental but also economic value by improving soil health, optimizing resource use, and increasing the resilience of farming systems.
The discussions in Padua confirmed that the sector is entering a new phase of development, where the focus is shifting from concepts to large-scale implementation. Increasing importance is being placed on robust monitoring, reporting, and verification systems, as well as on the alignment between regulation, technology, and market mechanisms. There is a growing interest in solutions that combine scientific credibility, transparency, and practical applicability.
