2025 has been a year of tangible results and well-deserved recognition for Carbonsafe – the Bulgarian company transforming carbon farming into a practical model for a sustainable future. With each passing season, the program continues to grow, bringing together an increasing number of farmers who believe that caring for the soil is not just a responsibility but an opportunity.
Today, more than 80 farmers across the country actively participate in the initiative, covering over 400,000 decares of cultivated land. Each year, 100% soil sampling and laboratory analyses are conducted – a practice unique in the region that ensures complete traceability of results. The data clearly shows an upward trend in soil carbon content – a sign of healthier fields, more resilient crops, and reduced dependence on chemical fertilizers.
Alongside field activities, Carbonsafe continues its validation and verification processes – a key step in preparing carbon credits for certification and registration. The main objective remains the same: to provide farmers and businesses with a reliable, transparent, and scientifically grounded tool that creates real opportunities for sustainable income.
In 2025, Carbonsafe took part in several major events in Bulgaria and across Europe – including the European Carbon Farming Summit, Innovate4Climate, AgriVentures Connect, Balkan–China Silk Road Forum, and other initiatives that placed Bulgaria firmly on the map of sustainable agriculture.
The year, however, was memorable not only for its international presence but also for the recognition received at home. Carbonsafe JSC became a member of the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria, joining the world’s largest initiative for responsible and transparent business. This membership represents a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, and the highest sustainability standards.
Carbonsafe also strengthened its position as one of the most innovative companies in the sector, earning high praise from the business community. The company received a double award at the Innovation & Tech Awards 2025 – 🥇 a Gold Award in the AgriTech category (Best Agricultural Technology and Innovation) and 🥈 a Silver Award in the GreenTech category (Best Green Technology and Innovation).
At the same time, Carbonsafe was honored by Forbes as “Green Company of 2025” – a prestigious distinction highlighting the team’s contribution to promoting sustainable solutions and the program’s real-world impact on climate and agriculture.
