Carbonsafe Conducts Training for the NAAS in Borovets

On July 31, 2025, the Carbonsafe team conducted a specialized presentation and training session for representatives of the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) at Hotel Lion, Borovets. The main topic of the event was the certification of carbon removals and the generation of carbon credits – a key tool for sustainable development in the agricultural sector.

During the first part of the training, the following topics were covered:

• the legislative framework and the principles of carbon certification;

• the methods and procedures for verification;

• the benefits and economic opportunities for farmers through participation in carbon schemes and credit trading.

In the second part, Carbonsafe speakers shared real-world examples of sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to carbon sequestration and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Special attention was given to the potential inclusion of small and medium-sized farms growing crops from the groups of cereals, legumes, oilseeds, aromatic and medicinal plants, forage crops, and taste crops, as well as farms cultivating essential oil-bearing crops, orchards, and mixed crop-livestock systems.

The event was part of Carbonsafe’s mission to support farmers with knowledge and practical solutions that lead to economic benefits and climate protection.
