On April 24, 2025, Sofia became a hub of innovation in sustainable development thanks to the seminar “Entrepreneurship in Climate Technologies.” Organized in collaboration with Stanford University and SiteGround, the event brought together over 50 entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, and experts dedicated to climate technologies and their role in achieving global carbon neutrality.
The seminar was led by Prof. David McCall, partner at Echelon VC and lecturer at Stanford University. With extensive experience in founding and funding over 90 tech companies, Prof. McCall offered an inspiring vision for the future of entrepreneurship in the climate sector. His message emphasized the urgent need for swift action, intelligent innovation, and collaboration between industry, academia, and the public sector.
Carbonsafe™ was represented at the event by Dobromir Kasabov, the company’s financial manager. Carbonsafe™ specializes in developing high-quality carbon projects and innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and nature-based resource management.
During the discussions, Kasabov highlighted the importance of technologies in supporting carbon markets, stressing the need for transparency, accurate impact measurement, and ensuring long-term sustainability. He shared examples from Carbonsafe™’s work and discussed the challenges and opportunities facing carbon-intensive sectors in Bulgaria and the region, emphasizing the significance of high-quality carbon projects and technologies to accelerate the transition to net-zero emissions.
