✅ Growing momentum in Europe – EU countries are embracing carbon farming, with many already implementing initiatives over the past years. There is a strong sense of urgency and collaboration to meet climate commitments under the EU Green Deal and the Paris Agreement.
✅ CRCF (Carbon Removal Certification Framework) – The EU’s CRCF is shaping up as a key element of trust and transparency in carbon removal. Its alignment with durability, additionality, and clear verification mechanisms will provide the necessary structure for carbon markets.
✅ Farmers at the center of the conversation – One of the strongest messages was the need to support farmers – reducing participation barriers, lowering costs, and ensuring they receive fair compensation for their climate-positive actions. Associations and cooperatives play a crucial role in helping them navigate the complex system.
✅ The durability debate – Buyers and stakeholders continue to focus on durability – how it is defined, measured, and communicated. There is a shared understanding that improving the way we communicate risks and safeguards will be key to building trust in carbon credits.
✅ Trust and market structure – There is consensus: we need a more structured, transparent, and accessible voluntary carbon market (VCM). Trust is the foundation for scaling these initiatives.
